We may only be a few weeks into 2019, but it has already been a great start to the New Year at Cheltenham Racecourse.
The Coral World Grand Prix has just finished and what an event it was with thousands of people turning out to see all the amazing action over the course of a week.
It’s fair to say it’s been a huge success – the crowds have been fantastic and The Centaur has made an excellent home for the snooker.
To see so many fans pouring in to the arena and talking about what a great location Cheltenham Racecourse is feels like a just reward for all of the hard work that the team have been doing.
Bringing it here for the first time, getting everything in place for players and spectators, and managing the event whilst working with ITV has had everyone working at top speed.
But that is just the start, we have so many exciting events coming up over the next few months and they come off the back of a successful 2018.
Last year we hosted more than 250 events of all kinds last year, and welcomed 87,000 guests and we are hoping to better than figure this year.
We had everything from corporate awards ceremonies and stand-up comedy, to charity events and clothing sales from some high-street favourites.
Joel Dommett and Dara O’Brien were at their side-splitting best at The Centaur, and we welcomed a true legend in Jools Holland – who will be returning in November.
We also saw a range of pop star such as the Kaiser Chiefs, Jessie J and The Vamps, as part of the PDSA PetLife 18 Festival.
If there are people out there thinking “how can 2019 possibly top that?” – please don’t fret.
Following on from the Coral World Grand Prix, The Spectre Cheltenham Masters Darts will be back in April with a fantastic line-up, and we have two of the game’s superstars in Michael Van Gerwen and Gary Anderson stepping up to the oche as we get ready to transform the Centaur once again.
The ever-popular Fresh Art Fair back is also returning for a third year and we are so pleased to be welcoming the event to The Centaur again.
We have more laughs lined up for the people of Cheltenham. Rob Beckett is stopping by on his Wallop tour in November, as is comedy great Bill Bailey.
Then of course, we also have Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra returning to the venue in November as well.
Looking ahead, preparations are already underway for this year’s Christmas party, and we have received plenty of bookings after the success of our Great Gatsby inspired shin dig.
This year, we are keeping with the theme of the American dream for A Very Hollywood Christmas, and, while it may seem crazy to book your next Christmas party so recently after the last one, our festive events always sell out quickly, so we recommend getting it sorted.
There’s plenty to look forward to at Cheltenham Racecourse this year and we cannot wait to welcome everything along.
